I am Michou Masengo Kabanga, the founder of the "la Misericorde" orphanage home, which welcomes orphans as well as children abandoned by their families of origin. I am a woman, a wife, and a mother of several not only biological children, even though I have had the blessing of giving birth to three beautiful children whom I adore with all my heart, but I have also had the opportunity to be a mother to several others.

The idea struck me in 2015 when I was in charge of ensuring the education of a large number of children and hospitalized people who were unable to secure their own financial security. There was no continuation for the children whose studies I paid for, so I told myself that we'd need a place to intern those who wanted to study but couldn't because of financial constraints, and I had the idea of looking for land to build a house where they'd feel at home, especially in a family. This is how the strategy began in 2016.

It is not because I have extravagant means that I am doing it; rather, it is out of goodwill to be able to help and bring joy to someone, and why not change someone's life because the bible says: "There is more joy in giving than in receiving."

Our mission is to give children a better future. To ensure that they have the opportunity for a better life and education. Children are our future, and it is critical that they have the opportunity to have one.
